Unless you have a burning desire to spend many hours cooling your heels at the airport. I had a flight from Phoenix to Atlanta on Northwest that was canceled. After the cancellation, myself and my fellow passengers immediately became 3rd class citizens. No-one helped us make other arrangements. After studiously ignoring us for several hours, they put us on standby on already overbooked flights. Me and my family (wife and 3 month-old)were booked standby for a flight that left in 16 hours. The customer service manager (Yeah, I still remember your name, ya dirty....)told us that we had to wait in the terminal for the 16 hours until we, maybe, could board the overbooked flight. At this point I lost it and began cussing at him for being the lazy, worthless, SOB that he was. Miraculously, he produced two vouchers for an overnight stay at a local hotel, which he just denied having.
So we stayed overnight at the hotel. When we got to the airport the next day at 6 a.m. We were told that they were already overfilled and were asking people to leave the plane. My wife began crying at the ticket desk and I was again ready to explode. Fortunately an older gentleman and his wife let us have their seats, so we were finally able to get home.
So, I can't tell enough people: "DON'T FLY NORTHWEST".
