Why did the government need to bail out airlines like this???

Pros: There were none
Cons: Customer service, seats comfort, calling india to talk to customer service, etc..
The Bottom Line: Avoid at all costs. They don't know what customer service is, they think it is getting you off the phone or away from the counter as quick as possible

Because they can't do anything right themselves. Their customer service sucks, their planes comfort sucks, their pilots suck. And worst of all their policies suck. My worst story of their horrible service is going on right now actually. I had a ticket for a flight whose times sucked, mostly my fauly because I let someone else make the reservations. I called their customer service (I use the term lightly) to change my ticket to an earlier flight that didnt have a 3 1/2 hour layover. The first woman told me it could be done because the 11am flight had 3 open seats and it would be $100 to reserve the seat. I can take $100, so I told her to do it. She told me that she couldnt do it and I would have to be transferred. I get to the department that handles changes and she tells me that it would be $100 to change the flight and I say okay lets do it. She looks up the flight I wanted on and tells me, "Okay, that flight will be $1070.00 PLUS the $100 fee."!!!!!!!!!! Obviously I am mad because after taking 30 minutes to talk to someone that can't speak or understand barely any english just to get this far, they won't do a damn thing to help me.
I always fly American Airlines from DFW to LGA, made changes to a few tickets, and paid all of $75 to change a time of a flight that is on the same day as my reservations.
I will never, ever, fly this airline again. If all these crappy airlines are wondering why they are going bankrupt they need to go no further than their customers for the answers. Just have them stand at the front of one of their ticket lines...
