Through the years I have traveled on literally dozens of airlines to hundreds if not thousands of destinations. U.S. Airways has always been a top notch flight for me.
I was first introduced to U.S. Air long before it was U.S. Air. It was then known as Allegheny Airlines. It was the only airlines that flew into my hometown. If we ever heard of a air crash it involved them. So I was very leery when I first flew. I was pleasantly surprised however. That first flight was smooth as silk and I wondered what all the commotion was about back home.
Over the last 30 years I have chosen U.S. Air for much of my travel experience. Though it is a little more expensive compared to some airlines it's safety record makes it worth the extra expense.
As far as the safety is concerned I am reminded of my brothers first flight on U.S. Airways. He saw maintainance people around the plane as he was awaiting boarding. Once inside of the plane he stopped and asked the Captain "Are you sure this plane is safe?" The answer summed up my opinion of U.S. Air. The captain said, "If I didn't think it was, do you think I'd be on it?"
Confidence like that in the equipment and ground support personnel says more than I ever could.
