Nice touches with United Airlines

I have recently flown United Airlines. I purchased the ticket through Priceline and was a little apprehensive about flying with them. The experiences that other people described to me about United were not good. Specifically, they had a reputation for being extremely late.
I was pleasantly surprised by United's great service, which started at the check-in counter and continued all the way through to the departing of the plane. The workers were friendly and courteous. Each and every one of them had welcoming smiles to all they encountered. The service they provided was efficient, expedient and pleasant. I didn't have any luggage to check-in so I can't tell you about that service but based on the rest of my contact with United, it was probably top quality also.
United actually served real food on the flights. Food that tasted very good too. For lunch we were given the choice of a burger or chicken salad. I ordered the burger and it was very tasty. They provided all the trimmings that would go on a burger and also served potato chips with it. A very large, tasty cookie was dessert. Now-a-days airlines don't typically offer real food so I was extremely happy about not having to run through the airport to find something quick between flights.
Leg room on the flight was very spacious. They seemed to have more room in the overhead compartment and under the seat in front of you too. No cramming to try to get each passenger's carry-on's to fit. A movie is offered for all flights over 2 hours (if the plane is equipped with the screens). Earphones are provided for everyone free of charge to listen to music. They really try to make the traveler feel comfortable.
As I stated in the beginning, I purchased my tickets through Priceline and got a very good deal (round trip from New Mexico to Florida for $200). I had priced all airlines both before and after purchasing the ticket and nobody came close to that great price. Even United. I can't say whether I would have traveled on United, even if I had to book directly, because of their high prices. I'm just glad that I was given the opportunity to travel with them and hope to do so again in the future.
