I fly Sun Country whenever possible. This can be difficult at times due to their infrequent schedules and many seasonal destinations. The best prices are found at Suncountry.com. I have always found their fares to match or beat those of other travel sites. Plus there is no booking fee if you book directly with Sun Country. The prices are always really reasonable. I think the best feature of flying Sun Country is that you depart from the Hubert Humphrey Terminal. This smaller terminal next door to MSP offers quicker check in, practically nonexistent security lines, and friendly service. There is a Dunn Brothers Coffee in the terminal as well as a restaurant that actually serves really good food. I have always had on time departures with this airline. I do miss the pretzels. They now serve a hot sandwich that I think is disgusting. It comes in a plastic wrapper and is rubbery in texture. They do offer two drink services. If you want to purchase decent snacks there is a charge. Sun Country features Minneapolis based artists, like Tim Mahoney, on their in flight music channels. I think that is a great service to the community in which they are based out of. An additional consequence of the con mentioned above ( infrequent service), was discovered during my most recent flight to San Diego. I took a cruise during this particular vacation and the cruise ship arrived a 7 a.m. I had planned on taking a taxi to the airport around 10 a.m. when I disembarked from the ship, check my bags in, and then take the city bus or a taxi to Coronado Island for a day on the beach because our flight didnt take off until 7 p.m. Because of the infrequent flight schedule, that was the only departure of the day. Therefore, their ticket agents didnt even show up until 3 p.m. No other airline would check my bags in and there is no service since 9/11 that holds bags. So my big plans of being able to spend the day at the beach were ruined because I was stuck at the airport with too many bags to drag around the town with. That was the only real negative I have ever experienced in flying Sun Country.
