My husband and I have cruised approximately 5 times and we can honestly say that this was one of our most enjoyable cruises that we have taken. We had to fly into San Diego from the East Coast but Celebrity arranged our flights and transfers. They met us at the airport and quickly got us to the ship. We were in out stateroom within an hour. The weather wasn't great but once we got underway and into Mexico the temperature was perfect. The balcony stateroom was pretty small but we really don't need alot of room. The food was absolutely fabulous. Our waiter and his assistant couldn't do enough for us. We sat at a table with 4 other people and we all became fast friends looking forward to seeing each other every evening. The menu in the main dining room was extensive and every meal was delicious. We also enjoyed the buffet, pizza station, and outside grill. Every day they had a station at the buffet that included "specials". One in particular was the "sticky buns" that were out of this world. We were on the penthouse deck and so we had canapes delivered to our room every day around 4:00 p.m. which made it very special.
The pool area was average. We didn't go in the water as it was very, very cold. They had a 50's night around the pools that was very enjoyable and several nightclubs. The shows were all very entertaining. We played "bingo" one day but it really is a little too expensive. The casino was very nice and we spent a few dollars there.
The highlight of the cruise was the "whale watching" tour which we did in Cabo San Lucas. We saw several whales and everyone on the tour boat was very knowledgeable and friendly. We also took the Mazatalan tour which we highly recommend. It included shopping in the "golden zone" a flying acrobats show, a cliff diver and a tour of Mazatlan. We were back on the ship in time for lunch. In Puerto Vallarta we walked to a hotel and spent the day at their beach and pool. The ship recommends certain hotels and you pay a price to use their facilities. Not expensive. I think about $20.00 per person which includes food and drink. We just stayed on the ship in Manzanillo and enjoyed spending the day with our newly found ship friends. The only downside was that I contracted a sore throat and couldnt' talk the last 2 days on the ship but I felt fine. I love Celebrity. It was our 2nd time with them and the service is always impeccable. We are an older couple (59) but we like spending time with all ages and would recommend this cruise to everyone. The bad aspect of this cruise was that they painted our balcony one of the days and we had to wait for it to dry. We couldnt use it for 2 days.
