RCCL vs HAL (Reply to this comment)
by Minx_In_LA
Having had ample opportunity to compare the two cruise lines, I have concluded that HAL has it over RCCL in a couple of areas-
Laundry room. HAL has one, RCCL didn't. 'Nuff said!
Movie theater- HAL's was nicer, by far...
Casino- I won a pile...a clinking, glittering PILE on HAL...

But the "themed" food nights were more fun on RCCL and the wait staff and crew on the ship were definitely more good looking on RCCL. :)

After a disastrous boarding fiasco on the last HAL cruise out of Vancouver, we're giving RCCL a chance to show us how they handle Canada Place boarding in Sept. Here's hoping they don't make us stand for three hours in line too... (moan!)

Keep us up to date on the future travels of the Gungians...maybe we can coordinate an All Epinions Cruise! :)

I'd never believe that in a million years. Mrs. G knows what she's got, pain-in-the-neck and all! :)

Anderson, Indiana was not on our itinerary.

But we had a grand time all the same.

The promised "ports o' call" postings will be coming. We packed so much into each stop that I need time to collect - and sort - my thoughts.

. . .that you've given such a wonderful description of your floating grand hotel, all I have to do now is to wait for the promised guided tour of your stopping-off places!!! Sounds as if you had a wonderful, memorable time!!! I agree, however, that you can't top the good ol' US of A--and that will be completely true when Canada's Tim Horton's spreads more completely around our grand, old fifty!!! :o)

Be careful what you wish for. If I become much more of a pain in the neck for Mrs. G, she just might lend me to you.

Wishing you unequaled service and a fun time.

A Somewhat "Tardy" Welcome Home! (Reply to this comment)
by LEDOMAINE
Hi, Gung! Missed you! After reading your usual tantalizing/information-filled review of your cruise, I know you and Mrs. G had a wonderful time, though. However, you've done nothing but make it harder for me to wait on my cruise (more southerly though than Nordic; also, since I'm presently "unattached" hopefully with more of those with like statuses in the opposite gender, than on yours). I want the exact same treatment and care you and the Mrs. got on yours. In fact, I insist! lol

Thanks, for another enjoyable vicarious journey to other far away places! Good to have you back.

The pools [there were two] are little more than wading pools. Not wanting to be mistaken for a Beluga whale, I kept this physique under wraps.

I actually only succumbed to the ice cream bar twice. Though I did not pass up any of the many deserts that passed my way.

[Thanks for the upcheck on the movie title - I made the correction.]

This was truly a wondrous experience.

I would set sail tomorrow but it will take me another 10 years to earn the price of passage.

Didn't you swim at all??? 9 pounds! The grilled salmon would've been to die for, I agree, but I'm sure it was the ice cream that did you in, hehe. BTW, the movie is called Chocolat.

The warmth of . . . (Reply to this comment)
by gungian
. . . your welcome brought joy to my heart.

Our very own NFP reminded me of a few details that I had omitted in my original posting. I made some significant additions this morning.

I will be submitting reviews on each of our ports of call. But I'm going to space them out so that I can have the pleasure of reliving the experiences.

I had to return to work directly {something about needing to earn my paycheck}. My in-box, voice mail, and email were all in overload.

It will take me a bit to get back to battery so please bear with me. I will catch up with my faithful WOT as soon as I can.

Once again, thank you all for your comments and continued support.

A VH, Mr. G, for an enthusiastic and evocative.... (Reply to this comment)

...review, but, in truth, some key bits of information are missing.

How much did this trip cost, and what other expenses should have been reasonably budgeted for? And what should you bring along in terms of clothes and accessories, and what was unnecessary? Info like that.

Might I suggest adding that to complete the review with the information needs of the consumer-reader in mind?

Thanks, and welcome back.

cheers,

nick

So glad you enjoyed the cruise and can't wait to read all your upcoming epinions about the places you visited.

About that 9 lbs - I got you beat, I gained 12 lbs on our Alaskan cruise last year, just under 1 lb a day!

Great review,

Now that all the pampering is over, that weight will drop off in no time! It sounds like you had a most wonderful trip and we're all chomping at the bit to hear more! While gone, you missed the oppressing Washington heat (several days in the high 90s) - good timing! Welcome back.

just a small suggestion--i wished you had talked a bit in the review about the con you listed (the time in port was too short). of course, i've never been on a cruise, so maybe that's all you need to say about it. just my 2 cents...

looking forward to more tales of the big trip!

Welcome back! You've been truly missed. Now get to work on those other write-ups. (It'll distract you while you're dieting.)

Very Best Regards to you both,

Going on a cruise is a fantastic way to travel. I took a cruise to the Bahamas a few years ago, and I loved the "pampering" part! Sorry to hear about the nine pounds, but sounds like you had fun. It's good to have you back!

by Mrsfitts
What a wonderful experience you had.
I, like Mrs G., tend to stay the same weight despite all the food available because of all the walking I do on a cruise. Especially to all the food venues!

Great review, and welcome back so you can share your fun experience with us.
