Pros: Sailing from California is a plus
Cons: There are none, but it may not be for "swingers."
The Bottom Line: Fares are reasonable, get category E outside cabin. They are in the center of the ship on the lowest deck, with the least ship motion.

| billroddy's Full Review: Holland America Statendam |
My wife and I went on the Statendam to Mexico a year and a half ago and liked it so much we sail again on December 3rd.. same ship, same ports, even same cabin.
For travelers on the West Coast being able to cruise without flying is important these days. The Statendam sails from San Diego to Mexico and Hawaii in.spring, fall and winter and from Seattle or Vanvouver to Alaska in the summer.
The ship is beautifully appointed without being garish. I especially liked the Lido Cafe where you can dine buffet style.
If you are a late night party goer this may not be the ship for you.
The crew is very friendly, cabins always attended to with fresh fruit.
Shore tours are fine and reasonable and the vessel has adequate time in ports.
You sail from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas on Baja California, then Mazatlan, Acapulco, Ixtapa-Zihuatntejo finally Puerto Vallarta. The best of the Mexican Riviera.
I took my digital camera and my web site has the entire voyage. You can find the site at:
