Pros: Best ship I've ever been on; great staff; great track; big cabins
Cons: Nothing yet; I'm on the ship now and will add if something comes up.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a stress free, relaxing, and fun vacation take a cruise on the ms Statendam.

We are on the ms Statendam in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on our way to Hawaii. I'm writing this from their internet cafe that provides 24 hour high speed internet access for the entire cruise for only $200. What a nice touch for our cruise!!
Besides the Internet cafe, everything is wonderful on this ship. I've been on 5 other ships (first time on Holland-America) and I've never had a cabin that compares to this one. It's huge! And I'm in the cheapest category on the inside.
The only bad part of our cruise so far is that our luggage didn't make it on board in San Diego. It's been found and will meet us in Hawaii when we get there, but in the mean time, the crew have been incredible in helping us get through this mess; and it's not even their fault. Next time I go on a cruise I'm going to be hoping my luggage gets lost again :-)
If you are into exercise, they have a 1/4 mile covered track and a shorter uncovered track. This was wonderful. Better yet, there's very few smokers on board and we've hardly been subjected to cigarette smoke (unlike other cruises we've been on where the only place we could escape it was in our cabin).
So far I haven't found anything that I don't like on this cruise--AND I HAVE A REAL REPUTATION AS A COMPLAINER :-) I've been on other cruises (e.g., Norwegian) that I've absolutely hated. If I do find anything to criticize or complain about, I'll update the ePinion. Feel free to send me email if you have anything you'd like me to check out on board.
One last thing. We aren't much into ports when we cruise. Our favorite part is being on the boat cruising. This is the ideal cruise for people like us because we are cruising solid for 4 days, visiting ports, and then cruising solid for 4 more days.
