They asked me on the news afterwards if I thought I was going to die - and I said that if the roll had gone one another 5-10 seconds then yes - as we would have tipped over.

Princess Cruises, which is ownd by Miami-based Carnival, admitted yesterday that the incident of the ship's alarming list was a result of human error.
Having survived a terrifying shipboard fire in 1984 aboard the Scandinavian Sun, I have mixed feelings about going on another cruise. I'd probably go, but only if I had the right person with me as an incentive.

I am going on a cruise in August and I hope the industry has learned from the incident on your ship. I am glad to hear you weren't injured. I am surprised that you still recommended the cruise line. You are more forgiving that I would have been.

so I am not at all surprised to read a review of the tipped over cruise ship. From what I heard on the news if the roll had been just a few degrees further the ship would have capsized. You're a better man than I - I'd never get on another cruise ship.

that's unbelievable...When it happened I was watching TV and the story broke on all the local stations here in Miami...I was stunned since I had never heard of anything happening like this before...I'm glad you and your wife are OK..
Must have been quite frightening..
Thanks for sharing this experience with us..
Other than that occurrance it does sound like a grat curise..:)

on TV. We went on a cruise in January. My husband swore a ship couldn't tip over. Well I know yours didn't tip over but still! Glad everyone was ok - my gosh. j

I loved your catchy title. It certainly makes one want to read your article, out of curiosity, if nothing else. What an experience that must have been, but being the adventurer you seem to be, it probably won't keep you from taking another cruise sometime. I'm glad you're ok to keep writing more reviews.

Props to you for writing such a balanced review, I can't believe you were on the ship I heard so much about. I know many less experienced reviewers would (and still may) come on here and say "1 star! Boat almost capsized!) I'm so glad you are safe, and that you can keep everything in perspective.
