I went on this cruise in 1991 as a college graduation gift. It was absolutely wonderful!!! I went in January on a 7 day cruise and the ship stopped at 5 ports including: Barbados, Martinique, St. Marten, Mayreau, and St. Thomas.
The room on the ship was very nice. It was larger than I expected it to be and had adequate space and closet space. There was our own safe in the closet that we could make our own combination for. The room stewards were efficient and clean. They made up the room several times per day. The dining room on the ship was VERY nice. Every meal I had was excellent and the service was top notch. The waiters were very helpful in describing dishes and bringing extras if we asked for it. I was very pleased with the dining room accomodations.
Just about every day, we were in a different port (except for one day we were at sea all day). At each port, we took sightseeing trips arranged by the ship which were all very good. I enjoyed the different sights of the different islands. Some afternoons were spent shopping and others I spent on the decks by the pool relaxing and that was wonderful after all of the sightseeing. I had a fantastic Oreo Milkshake drink in the afternoon which I've been trying to duplicate on my own, but cannot.
In the evenings there were fantastic shows to see, dancing in the clubs, the casino and much more. There was also a movie theatre showing current movies but I never actually got to see one. I especially enjoyed the live shows that were put on.
Overall, this was a wonderful trip. I have since been on another cruise and I will definately choose Princess again over the other (Carnival). There were just certain things about Princess that made it seem "classier" than Carnival. My parents have been on many cruises and now will only travel with Princess. I would definately recommend a Princess Cruise!!
