Pros: Service, Food, Day Trips, most everything
Cons: The ship needs some 'sprucing up' and the internet connection varies considerably.
The Bottom Line: A great cruise with excellent dining, service and ports of call. I really had a wonderful day - every day!

August-Sept. 2004
My parents and I (my hubby chose to stay home) went on a cruise from Rome to Monte Carlo with stops on the Italian and French Riviera and Barcelona.
Cruise Info...
I went on a trip every day, so was off the ship quite a bit of time. I thoroughly enjoyed all the trips, they were well planned and the places fascinating. Both the Italian and French Riveria are exquisite. Barcelona is a refreshing, beautiful and surprisingly amazing city - much more than I thought it would be.
More Cruise Info....
A larger percentage of folks on board were older, in their late 40's on up. I enjoyed the more relaxed and quiet pace of this ship/cruise, the small number of passengers and the absolutely beautiful ports of call. I loved the open seating at dinner and the food was always very good. There were entrees that were 'diet' and some for the good old 'meat and potatoes' kinds of folks each night. You can get from your room to virtually anywhere on the ship within 2 minutes - great.
The 'Not Positives'...
The ship is fine, but is starting to show the wear and tear of use any cruise ship is expected to take. My parents cabin was too cold and they had to take the ceiling out, etc. to finally get it fixed.
Also, the internet connection can, at times, be PAINFULLY slow. One night it took me 1 1/2 hours just to send one email home (to a worrying hubby). Take this into account if you are used to a relatively fast internet connection. This was probably the one item I was most dissatisfied with.
Recommendations...
I would not recommend this cruise to folks that want a lot of 'action' and expect huge Vegas style shows and lots of glitz and glamour. I would recommend it to anyone who would prefer a more quiet, elegant and refined cruise.
Me...
One item of note about me and my expectations - I may be more tolerant than others, as far as criticism goes. I'm pretty happy not to have to do dishes after supper - HA!
