This was our 10th anniversary cruise and my birthday combined and we had planned this for over 1 year. The embarkation was fast as we were on board by 11:30 (Diamond and platinum line went real fast )- rooms were not ready but we were able to leave our bags inside cabin. Ernesto was our steward in cabin 6075 and he was great - we pre-tipped a few bucks and he took good care of us all week - never a problem with ice or anything and he even got us a bigger bucket to keep the bottle we brought cold. Dining service was excellent in the dining room we sat at table 19 with Erwin and Bien as servers and they were awesome and by the second night knew what we liked to drink ( we recommend the lemonade ) and what type breads we liked with our meals.Every meal we had in the dining room for dinner was excellent and portions were satisfying. We did not use the dining room for any other meals but instead ate at the Windjammer for breakfast, lunch & afternoon snack ( which was a full buffet!).Everything we had was excellent and we had no complaints at all about the food. Our room was a little warm initially but it cooled after after they came and cleaned the filters. Our mattress was comfortable to me but not to my husband but he bore through it for me.My sister (pregnant) asked for and was promptly given a new Beauty Rest Mattress for her cabin #7454.
First stop was Grand Cayman where we rented a jeep for the day to explore on our own and snorkel - highly recommend going over to Rum Point for swimming an snorkeling. We were on the first tender off the ship - simply show them your confirmations for private bookings and you get an early tender ticket. Tender was by ship's life boats was was just fine - fast and comfortable.Recommend Blue Iguana for souvenirs as they are reasonable.Del Sol expensive but use the coupon on ship for buy 2 shirts get a free bag. Next port was Costa Maya where we shopped and used the internet cafe ($3.00 for 1/2 hour -cheaper than ship at .50 minute!).We went to Mamasitas and had awesome chicken platter, blackened chicken tacos, Sol beer and whalebone (yard) of Margaritas/everything here good! Be prepared to walk back to ship on very long dock if trolly stops running early as they did with us.Next was Belize and we did not like this port as it was very crowded, didn't seem very clean and the people were extremely "grabby" and touchy pulling every which way. We did a little shopping, had a Beliken beer(not what it's cracked up to be - too lager-like)at the Wet Lizard, then back to port. The best part of Belize was arriving/leaving in the speed boats used for ferries. Otherwise don't care to go there again. Has a dangerous feel about it!
Our stop in Cozumel was canceled so we had 2 days at sea in a row which will make you stir crazy! We were more than ready to come home by Saturday there is only so much you can do on the ship.We watched about 10 movies in the cabin(Mr.&.Mrs.Smith,Penguins,Herbie,Butterfly,Bewitched,Kicking & Screaming,Interpreter,Million $ Baby, etc). My husband participated in Karaoke in the Viking Crown lounge and on the last night won the Karaoke Idol Competition and was awarded a cute little "Oscar" statue and a RCL Medal. The Quest game was fun and our guy won the beauty pageant portion although we didn't win overall.Formal photos were very good and we bought several.Dining room had cruisers in there in shorts & jeans. Some were questioned about this but the dress codes were not strictly enforced. They did run out of Bud Light on the last night and said they would have to up the amount brought on next trip!We took 10 in out group and had a great time. Several were first timers and no one had sea sickness or complaints of any kind!Overall We had a great time, great food, great service and would do it again. The ship was very clean and there were hand sanitizing stations all over the place as well as crew constantly cleaning common areas. We recommend this ship, crew and Captain "Bing Bong"!!!
