My husband and I took a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise in October 1996. We were on The Majesty of the Seas ship. The cruise cost approximately $3200.00 for both of us. This was the ultimate vacation. We left Miami and cruised to Haiti, Ocho Rios Jamaica, and Cozumel Mexico.
At first we were a little hesitant about being gone for 7 days. We thought we would be bored. Wrong. We had the time of our lives. 7 days was not long enough. This ship is beautiful. There was always something to do. The food was excellent, and the crew were perfect.
We never saw the cabin stewards, but we knew they had been in our rooms because they were cleaned so well. Each night they would turn down the sheets and leave mints on our pillows.
At each port we explored the islands. Cozumel was my favorite. The blue water was so clear. Ocho Rios Jamaica was a dirty place, and our tour guide told us we were seeing the best part. (That scared me) Hati was ok, but it was also weird because where the ship docked, armed guards were standing there.
My overall experience with Royal Caribbean and Majesty of the Seas was perfect. I recommend them to anyone that wants to get away. A cruise is the best way to vacation.
