The Bottom Line: This is a great side trip while you are in South Africa. You will not be let down.

If you are going down the garden route you have to make a stop at Oudtshorn and see the Ostrich Show Farms. They will give you a tour of the farm and show you what they make with the feathers and etc. You can pet and feed them and even ride a Ostrich. I suggest you contact Thylitshia B&B 27 44 272 7814 for a great place to stay. It is right now about R220pp. That is about $21 per person and for $7 more you can get a GREAT Ostrich stake dinner. This place with treat you like kings. There is allot to do and see in Oudtshorn. There is the Cango Caves, and a cheetah/crock farm (you can pay $6 and pet a cheetah). The gift shop at the Ostrich farm is very cheap and you can get some great souvenirs to take home. There is ostrich eggs that have been emptied and carved on and lots more. There are winery's as well. You can easily spend 2-3 days just in Oudtshorn.
