A new mobile camping operation has started in Selous Game Reserve in 2005. 2 campsites have been selected in different locations providing the opportunity to walk from one to the other, sleeping in 2 different locations.
There are 2 'star nest' platforms at each site, beds are raised 12 feet in the air giving great gameviewing directly from your bed. Traditional bucket showers and wooden thunderbox toilets make this a truly authentic African safari in the wilderness.
This is essentially your own private camp in one of the remotest sections of Selous. One site overlooks a seasonal riverbed where animals come to the waterholes to drink, the other is on the banks of the Rufiji River.
The walking safari connecting the 2 camps is about 8 kilometers and takes about 3 hours. Shorter walking safaris are taken from both campsites as well.
