| Slynn's Full Review: Korean Folk Village |
During my year and a half stay in South Korea, it has taken some time to understand this culture. The Korean Folk Village gives you a taste of the culture of the Korean people. Truly their culture dictates their lifestyle today. The Korean Folk Village is an enjoyable trip for your entire family, you can visit each area in the village and see a great traditional and entertaining wedding parade. The best time to go is during the fall season when the leaves are changing, and crowds are minimum. There are Korean and American style eating places, among other choices. The American school age kids take field trips to see this village throughout the year, and always come back with tales of the past of Korea. It can be educational, yet entertaining. Also the cost is nominal and paid in won. The setting is humble, yet beautiful with a stream running down the middle of the village scene. I do recommend planning other trips around this one; Songtan is a hop skip and jump away and known for its great shopping. Also Everland (indoor/outdoor amusement park/Disney land like with characters and all)can be located in the surrounding areas. If you are traveling from Seoul and have limited time, it probably isn't worth the trip, because Seoul in its self offers many opportunities to experience the past of Korea. Driving in Korea is time consuming and confusing. Recommend an experienced travel companion, or great directions and ability to use them.
