Pros: Quiet, fun and exactly the place to go for a REAL vacation.
Cons: If you are looking for Disney World this is not the place for you.
The Bottom Line: A real place to relax. I live in the Disney area and I don't consider theme parks a vacation so if you are looking for something different...this is it!

I have been going to the Abacos since 1992 and I can't think of a more enjoyable and relaxing place to spend a week. The water is beautiful and the reefs are spectacular. We always stay in Marsh Harbour at Boat Harbour Marina on our boat but there are hotels and other places that can be rented out. The people and the atmosphere is very laid back and it is the kind of place the you can kick off your shoes and nap all afternoon in a hammock by the beach.
The surrounding islands are just as beautiful and quaint so it is fun to take day trips to the other islands. Hope Town has a lighthouse that you can walk to the top and see the spectacular view. As well as some of the cutest houses you have ever seen. Guana Cay two bars if you are looking for a little fun. Nippers, which is newer than the bar at the Guana hotel, offers their own version of rum punch called the Nipper. I prefer the rum punch from the other bar called the Guana Grabber but Nippers has a spectacular view and a great pool for cooling off in the summer heat.
If you are looking for a real vacation and some time to relax look to the Abacos for a place you will never forget.
