I traveled to the Bahamas with my family for a family vacation about 3 years
ago, and it was wonderful. We traveled to Nassau during the summer and for
the first time in my life I got to experience the Goombay the Bahamian way
(all along I have had to experience it the Cocunut Grove way, they hold the
festival annually.) We stayed at the Towne hotel it was arranged through a
local travel agency in Miami, Fl.
All I can say about the trip was that it was wonderful. I really enjoyed
visiting my mother's ancestral home. We traveled via boat to Paradise Island
where you know I had to spend some time gambling. We traveled to the Queen's
staircase, we visited the Marketplace and we bought souvenirs. I even found
the time to explore Andros Island which was my grandmother's birthplace. I
took lots and lots of pictures.
The one thing that I did not like about the Bahamas was the heat and you
would think that since I am from Florida I would be used to the heat. Not!! Outside of the heat and the fact that the trip was over so quickly (well it seemed quick, we were there for a week) I had an absolutely wonderful experience. One that intend to experience again
