Within the beautiful Bahamas lies a spectacular island complete with a magnificent resort fun for the whole family. Paradise Island is the place, Atlantis Resort and Casino is the destination.
During December vacation of 1997 and 98, i went to the Atlantis for a vacation. I never expected a grand place as it was. I was 16 at the time and simply fell in love with it. The beaches there are elegant. White sand stretches for miles down the coastline. The crystal clear aqua-marine water provides the ultimate view.
Going back in 98, I found that there had been many renervations from the previous year. The pool capacity was more than tripled and a whole water park within the complex was added. This was complete with waterslides, lazy rivers, and additions of heated pools.
A typical day found me lounging by the pools or beaches and taking up daily activities that the Atlantis is family famous for. There was Bingo, kareokee, parasailing, jet skiing. And most everything was extremely affordable.
At night time, I ate at one of the many amiable and delicious restaurants found on premise. Seagrapes is always a favorite, offering a variety of bahemian seafood in buffet style serving. As well does the Market Place, located by the new Coral Towers.
Afterwards, the night excitement of the extravigant casino overwelmed me. There were many typical games to choose from. Including slots, rouletee, poker, blackjack. And various renditions of each. I personally found the odds to be better than most places as i pocketed nearly $500 each stay. But hey, that's luck for ya!
The weather down there was simply perfect each year. Weather was usually in the 80's with low to mid humidity. Rain was found on a few rare days, but it definately was the exception to the rule.
With the new addition to the Atlantis Resort, there are now well over 2,000 rooms of all levels to suit your needs. Prices are quite high though, so it is best to have your wallets ready. If the funds are there, definately shell out, it is indeed well worth the money.
The Atlantis is rapidly becoming the number 1 family destination in all of the Carribean and for good reason. It is perfect for a family vacation. There is something to do for everyone. Great food, scenary, service complete this magnificent palace. Though steep in cost, one will find it is defantely worth it all. I highly recommend taking a trip to the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the near future!
