Overview - Breezes Resort is located in Nassau, Bahamas. I went their last summer with my girlfriend, and we had a very nice time, though the city of Nassau is quite seedy, and we had some problems with the resort itself. We felt like everything we needed was available for us at the resort.
Accomodations - Good. We chose the "Ocean View" rooms, which were the most expensive rooms there. This was the best feature of the room, looking out over the Caribbean. The "garden view" rooms looked over a pool. If you don't mind that, as well as the noise from it, it might be worth the cheaper price.
Activities - Good. There were tons of things going on at Breezes, from water aerobics and volleyball to a trapeze on the beach.
Atmosphere - Needs work. During the daytime, there is an MC at the pool who is constantly on a very loud microphone which echoes all over the place. I wish it could be a little quieter during the day. It was definitely geared towards the "active" crowd, and if you are looking for peace and quiet, this might not be the perfect place for you.
Weather - Good. We went in late summer, right at the beginning of hurricane season. It was somewhat humid outside, but this was more than made up for by the nice sea breezes we felt everyday. We had one scary day of strong winds, where the TVs were constantly tuned to the weather channel, but it passed pretty quickly.
Food - Good. The food was relatively good for a resort like this. Though the food is served buffet style, the selection was excellent, with lots of local Bahamian dishes, as well as a lot of standard choices. You could get sandwiches (at lunch) made to order, as well as omelettes at breakfast.
Drink - Ok. The house wine (which you don't have to pay for) was ok, though not great. Again, I wasn't expecting much, because I'd only been on cruises where the food and drink wasn't that great for the most part. There were also swim-up bars and outside bars where you could get drinks (mostly Rum or vodka inspired). They also had a soft-serve machine that made margarita mix, as well as some tropical fruit concoctions. However, if you are looking for top-quality alcohol, this is not the place.
Service - Good. The staff was genuinely nice, and I didn't get that feeling that they hated Americans that I so often get on a cruise ship.
Beach - Ok. They needed a few more chairs with umbrellas, and the water itself was a little murky. It's not the crystal clear beach you'd expect from the Caribbean. There's lots of seaweed and strange stuff growing at the ocean bottom, which makes it less appetizing to go swimming.
Town - Poor. Don't go into Nassau at night. It's downright scary. There's some cool shops if you can find them (I liked the map and antique bookstore, unfortunately, I forget what it's called.) For the most part, however, it's a tourist trap.
