Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa is a 6 star hotel and definitely worth the price. This all-inclusive resort is located on Cable Beach and has 406 luxurious rooms. The hotel has a Romanesque appearance to it which I found to be quite charming. Since this is a couples only resort the activities are geared to adults. Many honeymooners stay here.
We had a beautiful ocean view room on the 6th floor of the tower. The furnishings were fabulous and I liked the fact that the window opened so we could smell the ocean breezes if we wanted. Maid service was excellent and we wanted for naught.
Checkin and checkout were a breeze. They give you a glass of champagne upon arrival and you are whisked to your room in minutes.
The food at every Sandals that I have ever stayed is fabulous. The Royal Bahamian has 8 restaurants and 8 bars. Every meal was different and there was always something I liked a lot. However, the desserts were out of this world. Every type of cake imagineable was present. And of course, I had to sample them all. You could eat all day if you wanted because food is accessible at all times.
Since we had stayed at Sandals before, we were invited to the Refuge dinner. This dinner is for people who have stayed at Sandals more than once. We were served an exquisite seven course meal. All the women received roses and all the men received cigars. They also take group pictures of you with your table mates. We really enjoyed this surprise.
Sandals owns a nearby private island which they transport you to by boat. This is a great place to sun and also to eat dinner because they have a wonderful Bahamian restaurant on the island.
The resort also has a very nice spa. I had the best massage ever by a man who has been doing them for over 35 years. I also had a seaweed wrap done. You have to pay extra for these but they were worth it.
I have been to the Bahamas three times and have enjoyed each visit immensely. You can shop in downtown Nassau or gamble at Cable Beach casinos or at the nearby Paradise Island casinos. The local people are wonderful and very friendly. They are glad that you are visiting their lovely island.
