Pros: paradise on Earth.
Cons: see above.
The Bottom Line: People in love will stay that way when they visit. It's paradise and I for one felt a bit lighter, happier, and a lot more in love when I left.

| helarkins's Full Review: Jost Van Dyke |
I recently vacationed in the USVI in late February, 2002. One day we decided to take a day trip to island hop in the BVI, which of course included Jost Van Dyke. We docked at Great Harbour and enjoyed a drink at Foxy's island beach bar. What started out as a lemonade stand, is now a huge thatched-roof hut where folks come to party year-round. And Foxy is so much fun! Our group of 8 enjoyed his guitar-playing and joke-telling! There is also the Foxhole, where we shopped for t-shirts and gifts for friends in the states. After that, we all hopped in a large van-taxi to go to White Bay. If you are on Jost Van Dyke and you don't go to White Bay, you should be punished. This is a beautiful white sand beach with snorkling and other water sports available. My favorite spot was the Soggy Dollar Bar, where I had more than one Painkiller. You feel no pain after one. From the hammocks, wicker chairs, and umbrella tables the view is spectacular with the turquoise water and (didn't I already mention)VERY white sand beach. There is calypso music, and lots of games, including the ring toss. We also ate flyfish sandwiches, which were great. Even though we were only there 4 hours total, Jost Van Dyke made a lasting impression on me. I will return for sure! The local people are very nice, although the taxi driver was a bit fast and scary! I would recommend couples go to these spots. It is very romantic and you will get dizzy from being in paradise alone! Or it could be the Painkillers. Have fun!
