My husband and I traveled to Hedonism II in Negril, Jamaica in August 1998 for our honeymoon. It's a GREAT place to go if you want an all-inclusive resort with absolutely no kids under 18 allowed. Be prepared for the following: there is a "prude" side and a "nude" side to the beach. If you are easily offended, do not go to the nude side. As incredible as this sounds, after seeing naked people for a few days, it was no big thing. There are theme parties every night in the main dining room -- toga parties, wet t-shirt parties (this is for lunch entertainment!), and great buffet food available for most of the day. Since it is all-inclusive, alcoholic drinks were included, and we drank our fill. The only disappointing thing about this was it did not include champagne and we had to find original ways to get it, like be some guests at a wedding that was taking place and champagne was served after the ceremony. For you party people out there, let me set it straight for you. Jamaica is very laid back in everything, including its tolerance of drug use. When you first arrive at Hedonism, they sit everyone down and tell you the rules -- no sex in public, no drug use, etc. This is really a big joke. Just about every drug was offered to us in Jamaica, and this was right in front of the security guards. But if you don't want drugs, you have to get used to saying "I'm OK" to the people offering; otherwise, they will sometimes hound you, as if they are selling trinkets instead of drugs. There are even people in fishing boats that sit right off the shore that yell at you for "anything you want." Back to the sex part. There are places on the nude side that are private, including secluded walking paths that come in really handy if you want to be alone. All in all, I give Hedonism II an absolutely great rating and hope to go there again soon. By the way, Hedonism III was just completed on the other side of Jamaica. Can't wait to go!
