Pros: Beautiful beaches, flowers and fruit trees abundant, very friendly people, great resorts
Cons: Expensive, not a lot to do. Castries not a place to visit
The Bottom Line: A great place to get away from it all! Very few people in a place that has not yet been Americanized

| bjorgenson's Full Review: St. Lucia |
I just got back from St. Lucia (July 13 to 20th). This is supposedly the rainy season but didn't see a drop of rain. We stayed at the St. Lucia Hilton. A secluded resort nestled between the Pitons. Of the resorts I have been this is by far the most beautiful. The resort consisted of individual villas hidden on the mountainside. Flowers of all colors and fruit trees were abundant throughout the resort.
The people of the island all seemed very friendly and truly there to help you if you needed assistance.
We visited the rainforest. Not a big to do. If you have been to Kauai then don't bother with the rainforest tour. Also we went on a day trip to Castries. Castries is like a small Mexican city with friendly shop owners and a small marketplace. Overall we weren’t very impressed with Castries and wouldn’t recommend it.
While staying at the Hilton we also ate at Ladera. It is the small resort atop the middle of the Pitons. The view was excellent. The staff was rude and food was good. (the Hilton was actually much better)
St. Lucia is truly a place to relax and get away from the rest of the world. The Hilton we stayed at had excellent food and staff. We will put St. Lucia on the short list of places to revisit.
