We did a great deal of research looking for the perfect get-away spot for out honeymoon. Our criteria included relatively small, good snorkeling, a nearby rainforest, and a lot of relaxing solitude. The name "Anse Chastenet" kept popping up in every source we researched. It almost looked too good to be true. The cost was steep, but it was our honeymoon. The reality far exceeded our expectations. For us, this was the perfect honeymoon spot. The food was excellent, the snorkelling incomparable, the staff was very accomodating but not obtrusive. The first room we had was a "superior" which was not too big, but nice. Unfortunately, the neighbors brought a fussy two year old with them. THIS IS NO PLACE FOR KIDS, THEY WILL BE BORED TO TEARS!. We told the staff that this was not what we had hoped to have for our honeymoon neighbors. They arrange to get us another room, which was the next grade up. They accomodated us at no additional charge and the new room was fantastic! We could sit on our private porch and watch the sunset in the ocean every evening. The room was nearly 300 steps up from the beach, but the exercise kept us from gaining weight on the wonderful food. If you don't like a few bugs and lizards in your room and have to have all the "civilized" comforts like air conditioning, don't come to Anse Chastenet. If you are looking for the best get-away spot in the Caribbean, you can't beat it.
