| mandymcclelland's Full Review: Eiffel Tower |
Upon our arrival in Paris, my friends and I decided to begin our stay with a lovely nighttime view of the city. We walked across the six or so blocks to the Eiffel Tower and absorbed the beautiful scenery. After taking the preliminary pictures, we decided that the only way to go was all the way up.
Apparently, we were not the only ones to come to this decision. The lines were incredibly long just to get to the first and second levels. Once we reached the second level, we sighed at an even longer line for the top level. It took us nearly two hours to make it to the top level and then, on the observation deck, stood approximately one hundred of our new closest friends. Navigating the level for a full view proved challenging, but fortunately, the lights of Paris replaced our displeasure with excitement.
I must say that my companions and I spent over 3 hours, most of it waiting in lines, at the Eiffel Tower and unanimously agreed that just taking a picture would have been sufficient. If you absolutely have to go up the tower, I would recommend that you go no further than the second level. You can see a fair amount of the city with only half the wait times.
