Many travellers to the foreign city first want to find out about the hotels and other accommodations available at the place of their arrival. Chernivtsi is definitely not a travel Mecca, since a bunch of formerly government-owned hotels still cannot satisfy the needs of most of the travellers, but if you're looking for some place which would be comparable to U.S. bed and breakfast, then the Internet will usually guide you to these facilities:
Cheremosh - one of the best facilities in the city, located close to the river, several-story three-star hotel, accepting the foreign credit cards. Beware, though, since they charge the foreigners triple.
Bukovina - used to be one of the best hotels in the city where the visiting sport stars and special guests would arrive. Right now is reorganized into a business centre, and is basically run by a bunch of mafia guys.
Kiev - the hotel is located in downtown Chernivtsi, the rooms are scantily decorated, but again, if you are only looking for a place to sleep, then it works alright. The downtown part of the city tends to be full of hookers after 10 p.m.
Tourist - one of the cheapest hotels in the city is located on the intersection of Chervonoarmijska and Prospekt. Surrounded by apartment blocks, the building looks like the dream of a Soviet architect, i.e. awful.
