If you are in Buenos Aires and need inexpensive film for taking photographs here is the place to go:
Centro Mayorista
Libertad 434 Ground Floor, Office 1
They are open from Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 6:30pm. Their phone number is 4382-4956 (add 5411 if you're calling internationally).
They are a photographic film wholesaler but they sell individually. Their prices are by far the best I have found in my explorations of Buenos Aires camera shops. I take a lot of black and white pictures and their Kodak TMax 400, 36 Exposures costs $4.35 (compared with $6.50-8 at retail shops). They have a wide selection of professional films.
The place is a bit hard to find. Libertad is near the obeslisk, one block from 9 de Julio (the really wide boulevard). The shop is in an office at the back of the hallway of the ground floor of the building at 434 Libertad. If you look confused as you are walking in, the security will ask you where you are going, just say the name of the shop, "Centro Mayorista" and they will point the way.
If you are a tourist, you have probably come with all the film you are going to need. I, on the other hand, am a bit of an amateur photographer and I live in Buenos Aires so I find this store quite useful.
