I went to Costa Rica a few years back and I can't wait to go back!
I first went to San Jose, where there is a party in the middle of town every night! There is also Pops ice cream and the market in the middle of the city. Places of interest include the national history museums and he indoor markets where you can get fresh made juices!
After a few days there, we went to Monte Verde, a place in the cloud forest within the mountains. The trees were plentiful and the food was amazing.
One of my favorite memories of the trip was the sunset we saw while horseback riding along a cliff! We also went on a night jungle walk and saw panthers and monkeys! Another fun thing to do is to take a zip line across the cloud forest and repel down a tree!
The next spot we went was to Jaco Beach on the Pacific ocean. The water was beautiful and it was a perfect luxury to be on white sand beaches and to have the tropical breeze flowing through my hair. However, my all time favorite place was Manuel Antonio beach, about an hour south of Jaco Beach. To get to the beach we had to walk through a rainforest that included monkeys and sand crabs! The beach was pure white sand and the water was absolutely incredible. It was clear blue water with a luke warm temperature!
When you go a few things are a must:
Ladies - it is respectful to wear skirts or dresses within the city.
There are these incredible rum/chocolate candies that are soooooooo good!
bring bug spray and sunscreen (the sun is strong down there!)
look for scorpions before putting on your shoes
BARTER at the market for bargain low prices!!!!
Have fun and go to Costa Rica!
