Pros: An incredible journey from beginning to end.
Cons: The flight from Miami. We had a bad start.
The Bottom Line: Phenomenal. It was especially great to be able to take our school age children. What an education. This is definitely a trip to do.

We have just returned from the best trip I have ever taken. My husband and I took our 3 children(ages 11, 14, 15)to Galapagos. We booked a tour through General Tours. They are a first class operation. Customer satisfaction was their top goal. We flew out of Miami. We started the trip with a 3 hour delay but our discomfort was made up with a first class stay at the Hilton in Quayaquil. Then we toured the islands for 3 days on the Explorer II. The ship is beautiful. There is not an employee that does not give their all 24/7. The guides are passionate about their job. I can't begin to describe the beauty of each island. One more beautiful than the next. If you love nature, this is heaven. Then we stayed on the island, Isabela. We stayed 3 nights at the La Casa de Marita. It is like staying in a villa in Italy. Once again, the staff, food, and lodging were impeccable. We then camped and rode by horse back to see two volcanoes. The camping and horseback riding were just the icing on the cake. Our guides Fabian and Dries we just amazing. Not only were they extremely knowledgeable, they made sure every aspect of our trip was perfect. While everyone went beyond the call of duty, Isle, travel guide from General Tours, Marita (owner of Casa de Marita) and Daniel (V.P. of company that owns Explorer II) top the list. They are what made this trip truly exquisite. It would be my dream to someday return to live in this area. My only tip for those considering this trip, be in shape. The hikes and camping were strenuous. My other piece of advices is if you have considered this trip, definitely do it!
