| villanina's Full Review: Cuzco |
I travelled to Peru, stayed in Lima and Cuzco and visited Machu Pichu at the end of July 2009.The trip was organized by Gate1travel.I have wonderful memories of the trip.Cuzco is a nice little mountainous town with narrow, cobbled streets and friendly people. You feel the presence of Inca and Spanish civilizations everywhere in Cuzco. It is very enjoyable and safe to stroll these ancient streets even late in the evening. The tourist police is everywhere protecting the visitors.Andean cousin is worth trying.I loved the different kinds of soups and Peruvian national drink Pisco Sour. Drink plenty Cola tea.It tastes good and helps to prevent altitude sickness. The restaurants have live folk entertainment in the evening with the performers dancing to the tunes of Zampona, which is Peruvian folk instrument. The views from Machu Pichu are breathtaking.Peru truly is an amazing country and Gate1 is the best company to organize the trip.Their guides are very helpful and friendly.Everything seems so easy because of them, they even check in your language for you and that helps to avoid extra stress.Hotels are clean and comfortable.Prices very reasonable.I highly recommend visiting Peru or any other country with Gaste1.
