Comments: - Do not recommend Hotel Presidente nor would I use a tour guide service. I would take taxi to Ollantambo, take train from there to Augas Calientes, get room, then go to ruins and come back for evening in Augas Calientes. I think this would be better than getting tickets from a tour company in Cuzco. . . Gringo Bill's will help get tickets for 3 soles fee. Reasonable compared to Cuzco tour agencies. Always check tickets i.e whether Pullman or Autowagon and specify what you want. I'd love to hear from someone who takes this advice!

Weather: - Good.
Hotels: - Hotel El Presidente - not worth $40 plus. Lots of tour companies book people here. No hot water, lots of bugs. Gringo Bill's better for budget and Pueblo $175 per night better for more expensive place. Ate at Pueblo - good food. Restaurant at ruins, overpriced and not too good. Not much to be done about it, though.
Route: - Pullman train.
Essentials: - Try and spend atleast one afternoon in ruins after tours leave i.e about 2:30. Beautiful in late afternoon. We felt tour guide too rushed and dropped out early to lay under a tree and wait for crowds to disappear. Try to come on day when Pisac market is on i.e Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. Every other day the ruins are crowded. Wear sunscreen.
