Pros: beautiful scenery, safe & reliable public transports.
Cons: high prices, food sucks big time, service with attitude.
The Bottom Line: Bermuda is beautiful, but everything else is seriously lacking, especially their cuisine and service. Go to the Caribbean instead for better experience.

My husband and I just came back from a week's long visit to Bermuda in May 2008. We have mixed feelings about this place but I'll start with the good ones first:
POSITIVE:
* BEAUTY: Bermuda is truly beautiful. The view on Horseshoe beach is one I will remember for a long time. The weather has been unseasonably cool & wet at the time, so understandably Horseshoe Beach was deserted when we were there. It's really awe inspiring to see the waves of Atlantic Ocean pounding on the pink sand, and to see the different shades of blue of the water (greenish turquoise, sky blue, and shaphire blue all blend together). Elbow beach is also another beautiful beach we visited. But pretty much all the natural beaches on Bermuda are beautiful.
* SAFE and RELIABLE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: There's one good thing about living on such small location. It's easy to get around whether by their reliable public transports or rented moped. I especially loved the experience of riding on our rented 50cc scooter exploring the islands, stopping whenever and wherever we wanted. We could smell the strong scent of tropical flowers everywhere we went.
NEGATIVE:
* FOOD: Both of us are seafood lovers, so we went to this island with the expectation of fresh seafood bonanza for the whole week. Sadly, that's not the case at all. We understood that Bermuda imports everything since they have no significant natural resources, but we didn't expect them to import seafood too given the fact that they're surrounded by salt water. On our first night, we went to Lobster Pot because it came highly recommended by everyone we asked (from the cab driver to hotel staff). My husband ordered grilled Wahoo fish and I ordered steam mussells. The fish came out dry and hard, the mussells were rubbery with distinct seafood smell and clearly none of them were fresh. Unfortunately our experience with other restaurants didn't improve one bit, the fish choices were salmon, wahoo, and some run of the mill fish. No snapper, no grouper, or other deep sea fish choices. I mean, if you import everything, why not import some good stuff for goodness' sake! So by day 3 we decided to avoid seafood altogether and just ordered chicken. We couldn't find one single dish that's distinctly Bermuda. Even the Bahamas, who also pretty much imports everything, has better food scenes and definitely fresher seafood.
* SERVICE: or lack there of. Almost everywhere on Bermuda you'll see a minimum of 15% - 20% service charge already added to your bill. This means your servers can treat you however they want & they'll still get their tip. We experience similar attitude in the Bahamas (where they add 20% service charge to your bill too) but at least we get better food so we can overlook the service with attitude. That's not the case with Bermuda.
* HIGH PRICES: yeah, yeah, we've been warned about their high prices by friends before we left. We figured that's okay as long as we could get what we wanted in a vacation (decent food & good service, is that too much to ask?). We feel cheated for paying through our nose for something spectacularly lacking.
In closing, we will NOT come back to Bermuda again. Their beautiful scenery is about the only thing this place has to offer. There are other beautiful places in the world with better food and service, and probably even cheaper too! Sorry..
