South Bank Parklands is truly a hidden oasis in Australia's third largest city. Set next to the Brisbane River SBP has everything you need to have a relaxing few hours.
There is a large lagoon pool with an imported sand beach which features a life guard.
Throughout the parklands there is lush subtropical vegetation. The gardens are well maintained.
These parklands once held the expo 88. After the expo was over the council decided to make the space into a recreation area for citizens as well as tourists.
The Parklands have a very nice ambience and will sometimes make you forget you are in Australia's third largest city.
The parklands are easy to get to with South Brisbane Railway station (Central station only 2 stations away) only a few steps outside the parkland. Or you can opt to cross the river. About 2 ferry docks are at the parklands. Regular
"City Cats" operate up and down the river stopping at the parklands. An easy 1 min ride and you will be accross the river and in the CBD.
The parklands have several restaurants and eateries.
If you visit Brisbane make sure that you visit South Bank Parklands to Enjoy a swim, admire the gardens or maybe watch the fauna in the form of fish in ponds and waterbirds and other types of fauna.
