Brisbane, it is a well known place, mainly because it is near everything. Bushes and lush tropical forests, some of the best sandy beaches, major civilised citys with tall skyscrapers and other landmarks, and the gold cost that includes 4 large theme parks.
BEACHES
Australia is well known for its beaches. Brisbane is no exeption. It is perfectly placed for a beach; the tropics. Australia is full of sand beaches for surfing or swimming.
If you go to the gold coast I must recommend Palm beach. The sand slowly seeps into a lagoon of water, which is smooth and full of fish and marine life:a great place to go snorkling. The water soon comes to a nice island with palms. This is a wonderful place. If you are into surfing, or like the waves, head up to the sunshine coast, home of the best surf beaches. Or head up north to the magnificent great barrier reef.
Bushes:Picnics
Although it is quite far away, head up north and you reach the Daintree rainforest, a magnificent tropical forest home of many native animals. Brisbane realy is a family place. Great for picnics and what-not. Many national parks are scattered along, and are great places to picnic.
theme parks
Head down south on a short trip and you reach the wonderful place that is called the Gold coast. Home of four great theme parks. Ill start with Sea world. This isnt that great of a theme park Ride-wise, but it is great for a fun day. Swim and see many dolphins and a collection of Animals like them, and go on some of the rides, however, the rides are realy aimed for young children: There is a section called cartoon beach, that is a great place for kids. MovieWorld is realy in my opinion a waste of time. You see the movie sets, ride some rides, aimed ONLY for adults ( a very small section for kids) , and is quite boring. Some shows are provided for you, to stop the day from beeing utterly boring. Wet 'n Wild is a wonderful water park-the beast ive ever come across. Wonderfull zooming waterslides, canyons, lazy rivers, the largest wave pool in the southern hemisphere, Zero gravity drops, movies screened on the water at night, and a wonderfull water adventure land for children. This is THE BEST place to beat the heat. Dream world is my personal favourite, almost equal with wet 'n wild. Im a bit of a ride freak, who goes on the scary stuff. Dream world furfilled my dreams. The largest drop, low gravity rides, fast zooming roler coasters, gravity pulls, upside-down-zoomy-thingos! and for children a wonderful section dedicated for them. This is probably the best theme park overall to go to.
Accomidation could become a troublesome thing if you want a hotel near the beach. Book very early, or go to small hotels 10 km away from the beach-its the only alternative.
I hope by now you have a good idea of brisbane. It is a fun place, aimed at a family or a romantic couple strolling on the beach at sunset, celebrating there honeymoon... :)
