Located on I-85 near Shorter Alabama (Macon County), This park has ample parking and the facility have a general grandstand seating and a clubhouse where you can be served refreshments while you wager.
The Track has concession stands and a full service restaurant.
When you arrive at the track, you will see all sorts of folks hawking their various "Tip" sheets for that day's race. If you look hard enough, you will find almost every imaginable type of Dog wagering system ever devised.! If you are one of the hardy few who like to do a little handicapping a day before the race, Victoryland programs are generally available from convenience stores for a couple of bucks. They will have all of the vital information you need to know to place a bet at the park.
Unfortunately, though, they don't tell you how to win!
The track has a large area where you can place your bets and waiting is at a minimum. The staff is very courteous and the place is clean. The majority of the seats are protected from the elements but if you wish to be right next to the track, they have seats out in the open too.
The crowds are absolutely HILARIOUS!!
If you have a little bit of a sensitivity towards bad language (cuss'in) then you may want to take a trip to the concession stand or the restroom as the races come to an end. There is a concurrent outcry of joy and anguish that rises up over the crowd at the end of each race!
On the BIG races of the nite (Trifecta..etc) it ticked me to see that every time I went to the park, a little old lady won it. Its a blast to see them tottle down the aisle to the window to claim their prize!!
Its all in fun and this is a cheap way to have fun if you know how to control yourself when betting. Its relatively easy to break even and sometimes make a little cash if you study how to wager the Greyhounds properly. One thing that you absolutely MUST do at this or any other wagering establishment.
IF YOU ARE LOSING....DON'T BET ANYMORE - GO HOME!!!
