Right before Christmas, 1999 my husband's company drew a random winner for a trip to the Fiesta Bowl game in Tempe AZ. My husband won and we were treated to a trip to the bowl game. We stayed in Scottsdale at the Regal McCormick Ranch Resort. This resort was fabulous! We had a balcony overlooking a lake with Canadian Geese and Coy in abundance. Very pleasant. We enjoyed service on the lake or in the fine restaurants, or in our room. Southwest flair abounded in every place we looked. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent. Our room was beautiful. Everything we could of asked for, we got!

When we toured old town Scottsdale, we didn't really find anything old. We found it to be a tourist trap with everything overpriced. We couldn't find anything we needed or wanted at the prices they were asking. It was a cute little town, made to 'look' southwestern, but the reality was that the town was all hype. I half expected to see actors in cowboy outfits shooting it out in the street, but then they would of probably gotten hit by a car. It was a very high traffic area!

Personally, I think the trip to the Fiesta Bowl would of been nothing, without the game, and the Regal McCormick Ranch Resort! If I ever go back to Tempe, Scottsdale or Phoenix, I will definitely make reservations at The Regal McCormick! The resort is located at 7401 N. Scottsdale Road 85253. 1-800-243-1332
