....but for Seniors?? (Reply to this comment)

Fantastic review; now I've Got to see Sedona!! But what if you're an arthritic senior (can't hike; you fall down on rocky ground; tire easily, have painful knees, etc). I'd like to hear about the real estate and the climate and the shopping malls and more about the restaurants. We couldn't even handle a jeep ride. All our bones would crack. Soooooo.....what about Seniors? Sedentary Seniors? What would WE do there?

when traveling from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon, and only had a chance to visit for a few hours. We definitely would like to go back, especially after reading your review. Thanks!

We visited Sedonna (Reply to this comment)

a couple of years ago. We traveled the very narrow highway to get there. Fantastic view!, but I wouldn't want to do it in bad weather or at night or with a car not in perfect condition.

As I said we did encounter Jeeps but they didn't bother me in the way that the tram did at Yosemite. I also did not find Sedona so crowded. Perhaps it was just when we went. We never had to wait to eat, for example. I do agree that it is super expensive to live in Sedona but I live on the ocean in Massachusetts so I guess it is all relative! Thanks for r/r/c. jo

I enjoyed the review. A couple of 'cons' you might have included: Now that everyone knows about Sedona, everyone is already there ahead of you. Throngs of people, inundated wilderness areas and constant traffic mark this town and most of its popular attractions during the spring, summer and early fall. Sedona has turned into an expensive resort town, with all that implies.
If you hike or mountain bike, stick to singletrack and carry a map, the wealthy residents of the area do not have a great deal of understanding for those who accidentally trespass on their property. On wider trails the constant assault of crowds and vehicles can quickly ruin any attempts at a 'wilderness' experience. My recollection of the path to Submarine Rock was being constantly passed by a continuing convoy of Pink Jeeps loaded with overweight tourists.

My wife's grandparents live in the Sedona area, and it's one of the most beautiful places on the planet--and one of the most undiscovered. It's well worth the ten-hour drive we have to make any time we visit them. Can't wait to get down there again.
Great review--although I've been there many times, I'll have to check out some of the places you recommended.
