Pros: Perfect weather, nice beaches, clean downtown
Cons: Pretentious right wing maniacs, poor public transportation system
The Bottom Line: Well, that is it for me. Good luck with your SD adventure. Try to stay away from Hotel Circle. Good deals but also a good view of the highway.

| philiflash's Full Review: San Diego |
Ok, my second post on this site. I will try to do a little better this time.
I live in San Diego, a city not without it's charm. A city where you can pretty much choose the path of your day. A nice thing about San Diego is that it is all here and you can find whatever you are looking for. the city is split up into little districts and each has a unique style.
I do not want to waste your time with a lot of garbage though so I will get into my lists. I have traveled the world and put in a great deal of time trying to find the best that this city has to offer so here it goes...
Top 5 Free Things to Do
1. Mission Beach Boardwalk-This is what So. Cali is all about. Banana boards, bikers, chicks, crazies. It is all here. Rent a foam board if you have never been surfing at Cheap Rentals or some blades or a bike and just live the life.
2. Coronado-I don't like to share this place cuz it is my private haven. A vacation spot away from SD but you only gotta cross the bridge. Eat some Ice Cream at the Hotel Del and live it up like Marilyn Monroe.
3. Torrey Pines-Great hiking trails and beautiful views. Worth the trip.
4. Gaslamp-Just cruise around checking out the scene. Get your freak on at the Hustler store. Check out all the cool bars and spend hours deciding where you want to blow your cash.
5. La Jolla Children's Pool-Check out the seals chillin' on the beach. Great views. Good rocks for walking around and getting in toucch with nature. Nice grass for picnics.
Best 5 Places to Eat
First of all, let me say SD food sucks and it is hard to find any good places to eat so use this guide to help you.
1. Big Jim's BBQ, Encinitas- Great live music, food, and atmosphere. What life is all about.
2. Henry's Pub, Downtown. Good food and atmosphere for an Finnish Pub. Gets crowded late. Arrive early and beat the cover.
3. Konos, PB- Another one I hate to give up. This is the best value in SD for breakfast. $5 for a big breakfast that is too much food for 2 people. Nice oceanside seating. Gets cut-throat on the weekends though.
4. Amarin Thai, Hillcrest- Small local joint but I had to give it a shout out. Standard Thai cuisine but the best I have had in Hillcrest.
5. Karinya Thai, PB- Good food. Best duck I have ever had. Fish was sketchy one time. Cool seating in the back where you sit on the ground but there is a hole for your legs. Tons of pillows. Fun atmosphere.
Well folks, that's it. Kind of choppy but I tried to pack it all in there. Here is some additional crap:
Sea World-overrated
Balboa Park-museums suck except Science museum, nice atmosphere to walk around outside though
Z00-Boring but sky car is fun ride
Del Mar Racetrack- If it's open, go! But sneak your drinks in. Expensive to drink and eat inside.
Mission Bay- Nice atmosphere but serious dog prohibition problem.
Casinos-Lame
Outlets in Carlsbad-Good names, but deals.
Seaport Village-Good for one time visit but NEVER RETURN!!!!
Well, that is it for me. Good luck with your SD adventure. Try to stay away from Hotel Circle. Good deals but also a good view of the highway.
