Review Topic: Sights & Attractions
Men and women with "roving eyes" may want to ask for forgiveness after visiting these two hot spots in Santa Barbara. May God understand the frailty of your soul! Are we not all in the same predicatment? I hope to share with you some of my experience of the city and its beauty.
Santa Barbara has the best of both worlds to offer to tourists: Majestic mountains of the Santa Ynez mountain range and the Pacific ocean. They stand as the cornerstones of the spectacular beauty of this Southern California city. Important WarningIf you call to make a reservation and the clerk tells you there is no room vacancy, don't feel bad because that's just the way it has become with all the New Economy/high tech workers in the area. Add to this the influx of tourists from all over the country. On any regular days, you will see vehicles with license plates from states such as Alaska, Florida, New Mexico, Idaho, New York, Maryland, Connecticut etc. So, if you can't book a hotel room in town, go to the nearby city of Carpinteria. You can always drive back to Santa Barbara in the morning.
I have seen lots of change in Santa Barbara from my trips. I have seen people sleeping in their vehicles too
State Street Is The Heart of Santa Barbara
You can't go to Santa Barbara without visiting the "Queen of the Missions." Driving down from the Mission compound, you can easily drive to State Street. To better enjoy this important street, make sure to park your car ahead of time. It is a mixture of galleries, shops, museums, theatres, and important business buildings. For the most part, they are mission-style adobe buildings and red-tiled roofs.
Here is a list of some of the buildings and businesses you will find along the street
* Granada Theatre
* Various churches
* La Salsa Restaurant
* Saks Fifth Ave on Carillo and State Street
* Borders on Canon Perdido and State Street
* Club H2O
* Hotel Santa Barbara
* Casa Blanca Restaurant
* Bankruptcy Court, a beautiful and elegant building. Great architecture.
* Various coffee shops and other adult businesses.
You will find many people walking, riding or just sitting on the porch of coffee shops or sidewalks drinking coffee or sipping a brew.
Shoreline Park Is Where All The Actions Occur
After a few minutes of being at Shoreline Park, you will realize this is one of the most important scenic areas in California. Buses of students get unloaded there for BBQ and practice. They run up and down the shore line. They skate, ride rented bicycles. A lot of tourists and local residents just hang around to check the art pieces. Others go to lie down on the beach. In the background lie the mountains. The cool breeze of the ocean doesn't let you feel the sting of the sun.'
If you go to Santa Barbara, make sure to visit the Shoreline Park!
