| Berrybb's Full Review: Santa Barbara |
Having lived in lovely Santa Barbara for many years, please allow for me to list the best and non-tourist restaurants the town has to offer: (I like to eat and know good food)
Italian food:
-Trattoria Mollie in Montecito. This is the most authentic Italian restaurant in town and features some of the best home made pasta around.
-Pane e Vino also in Montecito. This is a very romantic restaurant which is really exceptionally good.
Fish:
-Brofey's is known by most locals to have the best fish in town. A happening restuarant near the SB wharf, be sure to try the clam chowder and catch of the day.
American:
-LongBoards. This restaurant on the wharf is a great place to bring kids and very popular among young people. They have great hamburgers, yummy crispy fries and a view of the beautiful SB coast
Mexican:
-La SuperRica on Milpas St. This is really the best and most authentic mexican food around, and is known for being Julia Child's all time favorite mexican place. Its really just a stand where you order food and then pick it up, but its well worth it. They have superb nightly specialities; I'd recommend Sopas night!
Organic/Healthy:
-The Sojourner. Located in downtown SB, this restaurant has excellent organic salads, brown rice bowls, and tofu creations along with healthy chicken salads and soups. They even have delicious low-fat, dairy free cookies which are surprisingly good.
Bakery:
-Great Harvest Bread company. This bakery has the most amazing cinnamon rolls; they're gooey and doughy and just delish! (they come in low-fat versions too) Their bread is also wonderful, and their scones are the best around.
Enjoy your trip and enjoy eating in all of these great places!
