Isla Vista- still drinking the drinking capital of the west coast

Except for my first year living in the dorms, I have called Isla Vista my home going on three years. Isla Vista is like no other living experience anywhere, and I can guarantee you that. Although it has mellowed out from its hayday, or so I hear, Isla Vista still rages on more so than any other college campus I have been or heard of. Rarely a night goes by in which nothing is going on.
The "weekend" actually begins on Tuesday nights at Alex's Cantina. Drinks are cheap and freely flowing and everyone is a mess, with a majority of those being drunk girls. WEdnesdays also used to go off at IV Beer Company put for reasons that I do not understand the place shut down this summer. Thursdays officially kick off the weekend. This is probably the biggest downtown bar night. Likewise for Friday and Saturday nights.
The weekends in Isla Vista are just as intense. Chances are good you can come across parties on Thursday. However, the largest nights are Fridy and Saturday. DJ's can be heard mixing the Notorious BIG a good seven times. The street, Del Playa, is packed for the four blocks. If you are underage, you need not worry, ID's are a joke on this street. A small party may have three kegs, upwards to the twelve to fifteen range. If you can't find something to do on any given night, I would suggest that you polish up on your social skills.
