Atlanta is the birth Place of Coca Cola, and they have a fantastic, interactive museum to tell you all about their past, present and future!
The whole building is air conditioned and is kept ice cold. Plan to do the coke museum on a hot afternoon, perhaps before taking in a Braves game! The building is flanked with RED AND WHITE! There is so much historical Coke Stuff that you cannot possibly see it all! When I was there, it was $5 a head to get in. You have to call ahead to check the hours, because they are odd, and they also close down when they get a certain number of people inside.
They do offer guided tours for school groups...It is truly a history lesson as you review how Coke has been a part of American life for so many years. My favorite part is the Coke from around the world section. They have many, many fountains of Coke, and Coke products from around the world to try. It is fun to taste flavors that we do not have here in America. In addition, Coke from Budapest DOES taste different!
At the end of the tour, there is a HUGE gift shop that offers any Coke
items that one could want! They have teeny sealed bottles of Coke on a key chain, they have historical Coke posters, coasters, postcards, T shirts, and it all says...you guessed it! Coca Cola!
