Pros: An airport restaurant really worth the price
Cons: None except that I can't find this place at other airports.
The Bottom Line: Am just reviewing one restaurant in one airport (still don't believe I am doing that) but see my later reviews of Honolulu itself.

Can not bleive I am really writing a great review of a restaurant found in an airport but Stinger Ray's is worthy of my time and your attention. Having arrived at the Honolulu aiport early we decided that supplimenting the anticpated airline food might not be a bad idea (it rarely is). Voting down the Burger King, etc, food court, we decided to give Stinger Ray's a shot. Very good idea!!
Luncheon prices were certainly no worse that we had encountered on the islands ranging mostly from $8.99 to $4.69. This was just supposed to be a shared snack but my husband found himself craving the Stinger chili 'n Cheese Fries ("fries smothered with hearty chili and covered with cheddar and jack cheese blend") while I was opting for Stingers Island Clam Chowder served up in its own edible bread bowl so we went our separate ways for only $4.69 each.
The chili and fries thing arrived not on a PLATE but on a PLATTER and not on styrofoam but on Fiestaware. In my opinion it was enough to feed a family of four but must admit my husband managed to eat the WHOLE thing. My white chowder arrived in a beautiful presentation in its bread bowl. Not having quite my husband's appitite I manage just the chowder and a few pickings at the bowl. The chowder alone was magnificent. Unlike most mainland chowders this one actually had real clams (warrenting chewing) inside unlike the minced clams I am used to.
We added a beer and a wine to our order and left very pleased with our choices. Did catch glimpses of the ultimate 1/3 lb hamburgers on their fresh backed buns for $6.99 and am sure after one of those you would be able to just forget the airline offering.
Stinger Rays also serves breakfasts $5.49 to $7.99 which I am willing to bet would make your day. This is definitely NOT your rip-off airport meal and I would certainly be happy to know if they have places anywhere else than Hawaii.
Anybody know?? Judy
