Best things to do on Kauai!

Review Topic: Sights & Attractions
First off, let me tell you, Kauai is the best vacation place I have ever been to! My entire trip was fun (well...maybe not the planes and 6 hour layovers at midnight) but other than that, it was great! There are so many places to go to, and so many sights to see. I'll tell you all some of the best things to do in Kauai.
5) Shopping. Of course, who could go to Hawaii without buying a ton of junk and some cool stuff to bring back? The best place for shopping is the Coconut Market Place on the west side of the island. <br>
4) Swimming and Snorkeling. The waters in Hawaii are fairly cool, which is much better than those other oceans on the east coast which are freezing! Swimming is a great activity for the family. As long as young children are well supervised. For the adults and teenagers snorkeling can be very fun. Personally, I haven't done it yet, but my friend also took a trip to Kauai. She went snorkeling and said that it was so cool to swim with the fish and see the beautiful life under the sea. Also she said it reminded her of The Little Mermaid :) Did I mention that surfing is also a great thing to learn while at Kauai? <br>
3) Hiking. Throughout the entire island there are MANY places to hike and lots of trails too. One thing you'd want to think about before doing this is the rain. If you're only planning a day trip I suggest taking raincoats/raingear. If you're planning an overnight trip for 1 or more days then it's a good idea to take good high-quality tents, plenty of raingear, and waterproof everything!
2) Drive around and see the sights. I know that doesn't sound like a very interesting thing to go out and do on a tropical island, but when I went it was one of the funnest things I did. On our little drive around the block we took TONS of great pictures, hitting many chickens on the way (just kidding) although they can get a little annoying when you have to stop on the main road for a family to cross. Anyways, we also found some caves which were spooky :) One was pitch black in the back so you don't know exactly where it ended, or if there were any secret caves in there. Also there was another cave but it turns into water before you can enter the other caverns. So if you take a boat or something there it would be awesome to explore!
1) Ok...and the biggest most bestest (pardon my grammar) thing to do on Kauai is...HAVE FUN! There are TONS of things to do on Kauai, and not just out-doors type of things either. If you're at a loss of what to do then look up on the web some good things. That's where we got our ideas from. So go book your tickets and start packing!
