| Newsbreak's Full Review: Lanai |
We went to the island of Lanai for Thanksgiving, 1999. We stayed at the Lodge at Koele - truly a first class resort - maybe the best in the world. The Lodge was decorated for Christmas with trees in every room and several in the lobby. We even had a small tree in our room.
One of the best things about the island is no driving is required. The hotel will pick you up at the airport and shuttle you anywhere you want to go - into town to dinner at the hotel Lanai; to their sister hotel, the Manele Bay Hotel for a day of snorkeling, relaxation by the pool; a water aerobics course, or a day of pampering at the spa. If you want to escape the luxury, go into town and have breakfast at the Blue Ginger restaurant with the locals.
This was our third trip to Lanai. They have a visiting artist program with various chefs, authors, musicians. Check it out. Enjoy your stay, but be sure to bring plenty of money. Luxury is not cheap!
