The Horsehoe Hotel and Casino in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA is definitely at the top its class, when it comes to gaming in Shreveport/Bossier City.
The Hotel
This Hotel rises above the skyline on the river in Bossier City. It's golden colors gleam in the sunlight and at night it glows along the river.
It has a beautiful fountain in front that will greet you when you arrive at this hotel and casino.
This 26 story hotel with over 600 rooms is beautifully decorated and a great place to stay while in Shreveport/Bossier City. Each room is a suite, with marble bathrooms, coffee makers, hair dryers and very inviting bath tubs in each and every room. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. You will be lucky enough to have a sofa, chair, and a table with 4 chairs that all fit with plenty of room left over for your wonderfully inviting king size bed. The rooms are well kept, the room service was great and security is every present.
The Restaurants
There are four great restaurants in this hotel all you have to do is decide what kind of food you want that night. Jack Binion's Steak House features prime rib, steak, veal and seafood. The food and service have always been good when we visited.
Four Wind's Asian Restaurant offers you a selection of authentic Vietnamese, Thai and Cantonese food. Although we have never eaten there, it is a beautiful resturant and have heard nothing but great things for the food.
Village Square Buffet offers you the biggest buffet you could ever imagine. If it can be cooked they offer it here. We have eaten here and the buffet is always hot and has wonderful food. You will never leave here hungry! This huge buffet can seat up to 500 people at a time.
Oak Creek Cafe and Grill offers you chicken fried steak, steak and eggs or wonderful fried chicken. My sister and her boyfriend love to eat here when they stay at the Horseshoe. She says the food is always hot and served promptly.
The Casino
The HorseShoe Casino is really large for a river boat. It is the roomiest of all of the casinos in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. You will always find plenty of room to feel comfortable and with over 1500 slot machines you can always find an empty one. This casino also offers video poker and video keno. Although there aren't a lot of these machines they are fun to play.
Along with all the slot machines they also offer some of the best known table games. These include: Blackjack, Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud Poker and of course roulette. The minimum table bet at night is usually 5 dollars and the tables are usually full.
This casino has a great wait staff, I don't remember ever finding myself without a drink here. They come by often and are very friendly. My husband who enjoys the table games, says the dealers are friendly and helpful and a good waitress is always close by.
Entertainment
The HorseShoe Hotel and Casino has booked some of the best entertainment into its' Riverdome Theater. From Joan Rivers to Merle Haggard and The Everly Brothers. They always seem to have a great show either playing there or coming in the near future. Tickets range in price from $30.00 to $65.00 depending on who is playing there.
Overall
We have always had a great time at the HorseShoe Hotel and Casino. They always seem to have friendly staff members, great security and some of the best food in town. If you are planning a trip to the Shreveport/Bossier City area, this would be a wonderful place to stay and enjoy yourself. Reservations at the Hotel should be made in advance as they are usually booked in advance. It is hard to find a room here at the last minute. Even if you don't stay in the Hotel it is worth visiting just to enjoy the Hotel, Shops and Casino. It is one place that is at the Head of The Class when it comes to gaming in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.
