A ladyfriend of mine and I decided to take a road trip to the great town of Shreveport for a fun filled day of gambling and "gettin' jiggy with it." We took this trip at the beginning of August, right before school started back. We arrive and find many wonders such as the Horseshoe and the Isle of Capri casinos. Our first stop is the Horseshoe. We enter a very NICE hotel and walk across the bridge to the boat. Along the wall is TEN MILLION DOLLARS in one dollar bills. I almost cheesed my pants. Anyways, my lady and I settle upon the black jack table and begin our day. There is a $10 minimum at this casino and the staff was very friendly. We gambled and were up a good chunk of change UNTIL the dealers changed. The new dealer was not a very nice person, and flat out told us we were about to lose all that we had made. I told him to go for it, and, what do you know, I lost all that I had made. In my opinion, something is wrong here when you lose twelve hands in a row, with the dealer always drawing 20's or 21's. So we left and went to the Isle of Capri.
This hotel, while luxuroius, is becoming a little bit rundown. The tables only had a $5 minimum, so we were able to play longer. These people were down to earth, and even helped get our membership. They comped our meals and always kept the free drinks pouring. This hotel had a novelty called video poker that seemed to pay out VERY WELL. They also have special room rates and own an Inn down the street which is $10 a night with a membership card! Needless to say, we stayed at this hotel, and we were not disappointed. The actually had vibrating beds!!!! (What a concept!). This made our stay more enjoyable, and I play on bringing another lady friend for another journey to a ton that never sleeps, SHREVEPORT!!!
