I have tried in previous reviews to give you an overview of the casinos in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. These wonderful gaming riverboats are big business in this area and all have a lot of fun to offer to the people who visit. In this review I want to introduce you to yet another of those fun places for gaming in this area. This riverboat and hotel is named Casino Magic.
What Casino Magic Has To Offer
This riverboat casino offers a nice, clean environment for you gaming pleasure. It also now plays host to a new 200 room hotel located right beside the casino. They claim to have the largest variety of slot machines in the area. Wonderful food and a great buffet is also a big part of the experience at Casino Magic. The offer free parking in their parking garage and also valet parking if you can't or don't want to walk from the garage.
The Casino
The casino here is not the largest in Shreveport/Bossier City but you can have an enjoyable time if you are there at the right time. My husband and I stay away from this casino on weekends and around the 15th and 30th of each month. This tends to be the most crowded time and it is very hard to find a slot machine to play. They offer table games, which my husband enjoys. These include; blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, roulette, and craps. We have found the dealers and wait staff here to be friendly and helpful. When the casino is crowded you may find it rather difficult to get a drink while playing the slots, they just don't seem to have the personnel to cover the crowds. The slots are fun to play and range from quarter slots to twenty-five dollar slot machines. This riverboat has three floors for gaming, with most of the slots located on the 2nd floor. They do offer elevators from floor to floor but they are very slow, the best way to get to each floor is to walk stairs. We have never won big here, but always seem to win enough to have an enjoyable night of gaming.
The Food
As with most of the casinos in this area Casino Magic offer a buffet. Abracadabra's offers a great buffet for your enjoyment, for a price of $7.95 for lunch and $9.95 at dinner you can eat your fill Louisiana style seafood dishes such as crawfish etoufee', red beans and rice and seafood gumbo. They also offer mashed potatoes, baked chicken and turkey. All of this combines to make a great buffet with lots of choices for you and your family. Presto's Brick Oven Grill offers you soup, sandwiches, pizza and also serves breakfast. We haven't eaten here, but our friends tell us the food is good. Randolph's is located in the hotel lobby. They offer prime rib, steak and seafood in elegant surroundings.
The Hotel
The Casino Magic Hotel is new and just opened this year. We haven't had the pleasure of staying here yet. They have only 200 rooms and are booked solid on the weekends. These rooms are supposed to be very nice with large sitting areas, jacuzzi baths, marble floors, bathroom telephones and very beautifully decorated. My sister has stayed here and she says it was a wonderful room for the price.
Magic Money Player's Club
This is Casino Magic's way of offering you special offers for the amount of time you play here. Membership is absolutely free. You earn points by playing slots or table games. For every 100 points equals $5.00 cash. You are given a card to insert into the slot machine or to give to the dealer at your table games so that your points can add up. You will be eligible for free buffets, rooms, cash and exclusive offers to concert tickets at the casino.
Entertainment
The casino has a show each night that is usually just a great band from the area. They do have special concerts with stars such as the Beach Boys, Charlie Daniels, The Whispers and other well known name acts in the music business. The nightly shows we have seen have all been wonderful and quite entertaining.
Overall
If you are in the Shreveport/Bossier City area or just passing through, check out some of the great Riverboat Casinos in the area. They are fun and you can always get a great meal at any of the casinos. We go to Casino Magic for a night out and always enjoy ourselves and I know you will too.
Thanks for Reading!!
